las vegas tourThe city of Las Vegas has a rich history is full of fun, exciting and fabulous tours for its visitors. While the Las Vegas strip is a popular location to visit and gamble at, one of the most popular tours is that of the Fremont Street Experience.

Fremont Street is located in downtown Las Vegas and dates back to 1905. It is a pedestrian mall with a barrel vault canopy. The canopy that covers Fremont Street is a large screen that plays light shows a couple of times a night. Some of the shows that are put on include “Smoke Speed and Spinning Wheels”, “Area 51”, “Lucky Vegas”, “American Freedom” and “The Drop”.

While it is known that the casinos in Vegas never turn off their lights, when these shows start, all of the surrounding casinos go dark. The screen has been updated many times and now features over 12 million LED lights that are controlled by 10 different high tech computers.


Las Vegas Hotel Review: Golden Nugget Las Vegas

las vegas hotelThe Golden Nugget hotel and casino has been a long standing landmark in Las Vegas for the past 60 years. Established in 1946 the hotel is located on the Fremont Street Experience. It is a luxury hotel and has received and maintained the AAA four diamond rating from 1977 through 2009.

The hotel boasts 2,345 luxury rooms and suites and the casino covers 38,000 square feet. One of the main attractions of the hotel is the expansive aquariums which contain full grown sharks. One of these aquariums is facing the swimming pool and actually has a water slide that passes through the shark filled aquarium.

The Golden Nugget is well represented by the 875 troy ounce gold nugget that is on display in the hotel lobby, which is the largest gold nugget in the world. The hotel also features five luxury restaurants including a steak house, Italian grotto, sushi, and seafood restaurant.


Las Vegas Shows, Love Cirque du Soleil

Cirque du Soleil BeatlesLove is a show that combines amazing dance, effects and acrobatics and throws in some great music for good measure.  George Harrison originally started work on ‘Love‘ with Cirque du Soleil before his passing.  Paul McCartney and Ring Starr took over so that they could help to bring their band mate’s vision to reality.

This is a Las Vegas show that has everything you could want.  You walk into excited and walk out singing the Beatles.  Some of the best Beatles songs are background to the talents of the Cirque du Soleil performers.  Ballet, inline skating and acrobatic trampoline feats make up one of the best shows that the Mirage has featured in years.

If you love the Beatles, Cirque du Soliel, dancing, excitement and a good time then you will absolutely love Love, playing at the Mirage.
