Friday, July 29th, 2011

Thanks to the Nevada Gaming Control Board, they have allowed event wagering this year. Until the first hand is dealt, people can place bets on who they think will reign supreme. Many sports books have posted their own odds, but the favourite amongst them all to win is Martin Staszko of the Czech Republic. With a whopping 40,025,000 chip stack, his odds are the best.

This year’s WSOP was successful, with a slightly smaller turnout than last year, but a bigger grand prize. The buy in this year was $10,000. The final table will have the following nine players with these chip counts:

Wednesday, July 27th, 2011

It’s been over 15 years since tragedy struck the Ramsey family. The body of JonBenet Ramsey, a young a beauty queen and beloved daughter, was found dead in the basement of the family’s home in Boulder, Colorado.

Tragedy has seemed to plague the Ramsey family these past few years. With the death of JonBenet Ramsey, the loss of another daughter in 1992, and the loss of his wife, Patsy in 2006 from ovarian cancer, its been a heart wrenching life for John Ramsey.

After all these years, John Ramsey has finally found happiness again. At 67 years old, he married his 53 year old fashion designer girlfriend, Jan Rousseaux at a private ceremony in Charlevoix, Michigan last Thursday on July 21st. 70 guests attended the wedding nuptials, including Ramsey’s other adult children.

The wedding comes five years after the loss of Patsy Ramsey from ovarian cancer at the age of 49.

Rousseaux is a costume fashion designer for stage stars in Las Vegas and Branson, Missouri. Ramsey met Rousseaux back in 2009 at a wedding in Denver, and from there, struck up a friendship. The relationship began in 2010, a year after meeting in 2009.

The couple dated long distance for awhile, and then last Valentine’s Day, he popped the question at a resort in Vero Beach, Florida over breakfast.

Man Presumed Dead Discovered in Las Vegas

Monday, July 25th, 2011

Tragedy struck a family 25 years ago when a Chicago family man, Arthur Gerald Jones disappeared. Jones disappeared amidst looming debts and links to the mob. Jones was declared dead in 1986.

25 years ago, 40 year old Arthur Gerald Jones was a father of three. He went missing in May 1979.  He seemed to not be himself prior to his disappearance, and his wife at the time, Joanne was especially scared then. Joanne thought he may have been involved with the mob in Chicago, and it’s easy to assume the worst.

In 1986, Jones was declared dead after disappearing for 7 years. His wife and children collected $47,000 in benefits. All this time, they claimed they never heard from him.

Last week, Jones was discovered in Nevada. He was found in a bookmaker that he has worked a for a decade. At the age of 72, he has been arrested and charged with fraud, burglary, and identity theft/

Despite leaving behind a family decades ago, Jones moved on and found love in Nevada, with his girlfriend of 22 years, Patricia Baal. Despite everything,  Patricia Baal, told the Las Vegas Review-Journal “We’ve been together 22 years, and he’s been very loving and respectful to me and my family. And I love him. And everything’s fine.”
