Las Vegas Hilton To Become LVH-Las Vegas Hotel and Casino
After years of being named The Las Vegas Hilton, it will be renamed LVH-Las Vegas Hotel and Casino. The name change will take place in the new year, on January 3rd, 2012, according to an advertising feature spotted in the Los Angeles Times. The owner of Colony Resorts LVH Acquisitions LLC, filed a federal trademark applications on September 28th, 2011 to use the new name.
Visitors can expect to see the new name mark the hotel, restaurant, lounge, bar, and other service areas, including facilities that are used for sports, concerts and the casino will also have the new name marked on property.
The hotel found out awhile ago that as of January 1st, 2012, the franchise agreement with Hilton Worldwide and Colony Resorts LVH Acquisitions LLC, the owner and operator of the hotel, would be terminated. Since then, names have been considered to replace The Las Vegas Hilton.
Hilton Worldwide, and Colony Resorts have been quiet on the termination. Despite having an eight year business partnership, neither party has commented on the reasons for the termination.
In 2009, a three year agreement was signed, which gave Colony Resorts the right to use the Hilton brand, and it actually links to the property to Hilton’s “Honors” loyalty program.
