Las Vegas Hotel Casinos Score With New Bills

36 bills in the Nevada state senate last week were inked by Governor of Nevada, Bill Sandoval. Two of those bills are going to change the gambling industry in Nevada, especially Las Vegas. These bills could not have come at a better time, especially for Las Vegas, which has been struggling a bit over the last few years.

The two major bills that are a score with Las Vegas are Assembly Bill 294, and Assembly Bill 258.

Assembly Bill 294 allows hotel casinos to make electronic gambling machines available in hotel suites for guest use. It used to be that guests were not allowed to gamble in sleeping areas, but according to customer surveys conducted in Las Vegas, customers actually want gambling machines in their suites. The reason why hotels did not have gambling machines in rooms before was because it was feared that underage gambling would happen. Less than 7% of hotel guests bring children though, so the fear is unwarranted.

Assembly Bill 258 is an even better bill! It orders that the Nevada Gaming Commission allows online gambling in the state. Although it is still illegal to gamble online in the U.S. at the federal level, States have the power to legalize online gambling within their own State. Assembly Bill 258 not only makes it legal to gamble online in Nevada, it allows the Nevada Gaming Commission to issue licenses to casinos that want to offer online poker.

Both these bills are going to do great things for the gambling industry in Nevada. With these two new bills, more revenue can be generated, and some new life will be breathed into the industry.
