Comedy Contest Finals In Las Vegas

Wednesday, March 21st, 2012

Budd Friedman and Mark Lonow have spent the past 50 years discovering thousands of talented comics through their comedy club franchise The Improv. An online site has been built by the Impresarios, along with Pixo Entertainment for a competition amongst comics. The grand prize is a comic’s dream, and is $25,000 in bookings at Harrah’s Las Vegas and Harveys Lake Tahoe.

One of the founders of The Improv, Budd Friedman talked about this new competition, saying “Mark and I felt with so many years of giving comics their start, a social media tie-in we would be able to reach more comics than ever and continue to help them along their path. This is the first of many contests and just the beginning of what we are building online and with Harrah’s properties.”

Six finalists have been chosen after months of voting online, and they will be flown to Las Vegas to compete. On the panel of judges will be Danny Robinson as well as Las Vegas journalists and other media representatives.

The finals are on Sunday, April1, 2012. The event will be held at The Improv at Harrah’s Las Vegas. Tickets can be purchased at Harrah’s box office, or purchased online for $25.00 and $44.95. Check out www.harrahslasvegas.com for more details.

Golden Gate Casino To Be Redone

Monday, March 19th, 2012

It looks like some serious renovation is afoot in Las Vegas, as it has just been announced that the Golden Gate Casino hotel will be undergoing a revamping. The renovation will be completed by this summer in July.

The Golden Gate Casino hotel is just one of many hotels in Las Vegas that are undergoing a revamping. Over the past year alone, many major hotels have renovated or are in the process of renovation. Just last week, Fitzgerald’s announced their massive renovation plans, as well as started rebranding to The D Hotel.

The Las Vegas Strip has undergone an amazing transformation, and it looks like there is a domino effect happening here, with one hotel or company after another, pursuing renovations and changes.

Now is really the time to make changes and renovations in Las Vegas, especially with the cost of labour being cheaper, as well as it being easier for companies to get loans for their projects.

If any hotel deserves a revamping, it’s definitely the Golden Gate hotel. It was the very first hotel in the city, known back then as the Hotel Nevada when it opened in 1906. It cost $1 per day for a room as well! Many landmark things have happened at the Golden Gate hotel over the years, and it looks like many more wonderful things will continue happening there for years to come.
