Beso Steakhouse Closed

Friday, August 31st, 2012

Beso Steakhouse at CityCenter has been closed by restaurant and casino investor, Tilman Fertitta. Fertitta now has plans to transform the space on the Las Vegas Strip into a more female-focused venue that will appeal to women. Beso Steakhouse was more than just a restaurant, as it also has Eve Nightclub.

The Golden Nugget casinos in Las Vegas, Laughlin and Atlantic City are owned by Fertitta, and Fertitta also owns restaurant chains Landry’s Seafood House and Morton’s the Steakhouse. Fertitta bought the assets of Beso Las Vegas last year, in which Eva Longoria kept a minority interest.

The closure of Beso happened last weekend, and since then, things have been cleared away for converting the space into a nightclub and restaurant combination that will be called She by Morton’s.

In a statement released earlier this week, it was said that “She restaurant integrates fine dining with fashion and music to create a female-friendly experience.”

The new venue is set to open on New Year’s Eve, at the Crystals mall in the very popular CityCenter. This isn’t the first time a venue has had an opening day on New Year’s Eve. This seems to have become a very popular opening day in Las Vegas for many new venues over the past few years.

United Coin Machine Company, which is a big company that operates slot machines in bars and stores in Nevada, is adding some new bells and whistles to their games, trying to compete with competitors like casinos. These new gaming machines bring the thrills of playing video poker, keno and bingo.

United Coin Machine Company has developed and is no manufacturing new PowerVision multi-game, multi-denomination machines. These machines feature video poker, slot games, bingo and keno, and include new types of bonus rounds as well as outstanding graphics.

There is an Interactive Gamblers Bonus Advantage system, which includes a large video screen that alerts people in a bar or establishment when someone has hit the jackpot. Players are also given a chance to compete in a bonus round as well, which features spinning prize wheels, animal races, and a balloon burst.

Players will be able to instantly sign up for the Gamblers Bonus slot players club. This club allows bar owners to track cash flow and collect gaming winnings daily instead of weekly.

200 new PowerVision machines are being built, and they will be used to replace aging units that are getting old.

Las Vegas Comedians Raise Funds

Monday, August 27th, 2012

Las Vegas’ comedians have helped to raise funds for a family, after their moving truck was stolen. The family is from Portland, Oregon. It was disappointing when the family’s 26 foot moving truck and its contents arrived in Las Vegas, as a majority of the family’s items has been stolen or trashed.

A Las Vegas comedian, Michael Shank saw the news story on Channel 13, and decided to organize a stand up comedy show to fundraise for the family. Shank worked with TickleMe Entertainment to sponsor the event, which happened last Friday, on the 24th at the Las Vegas Grille.

Michael Shank expressed his sympathy, saying “The family has two kids and all of their stuff was stolen. I have two kids of my own and I can sympathize with what they are going through right now.”

The show being organized by Shank, and being sponsored by TickleMe Entertainment will raise funds with all proceeds going to the family.

TickleMe Entertainment Events Director, Phil Peredo said “We want to show the Lovelady family that Las Vegas does welcome them with open arms, and if we can put a smile on their face after this terrible incident and raise some funds while we’re at it, we know we’re doing what we’re meant to do as comedians.”
