Big One For One Drop At The Rio

Sunday is a big day for poker fans around the globe. It’s the first ever World Series of Poker Platinum Bracelet event.

What makes this WSOP event so special is that it’s the largest buy-in poker tournament, with its $1 million entry fee per player. This event was conceived by Guy Lalibert, also the founder of Cirque du Soleil. It literally is the ultimate poker game, as the final winner will walk away after three days of poker with an eight figure prize, expected to be over $35 million. Another unique thing about this event is that it will also be the first WSOP event to award a platinum bracelet.

This even is one for the books, as it makes gaming and sports history with the largest amount to ever be rewarded in a poker tournament. This event definitely will break the record that Jamie Gold set back in 2006 with his $12 million haul at the WSOP Main Event.

The tournament kicks off on Sunday, and will be played as No Limit Hold’em. The game starts at 1:11p.m., and will run until Tuesday at the Rio Hotel and Casino Resort, as part of the annual WSOP, which is in its 43rd year now.
