Iconic Cartoon Creator Memorial Opens Thursday

The grand opening of the Chuck Jones Experience will be this Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 11 a.m. The attraction will be opened at Circus Circus’ Skyrise Tower near its Adventuredome.

The Chuck Jones Experience is a memorial attraction created to memorialize Chuck Jones, the creator of some of the most iconic cartoon characters in history, including Wile E. Coyote, Pepe le Pew, and the most popular and beloved cartoon characters of all time, Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck.

Jones passed away in 2002, so this memorial comes a decade later after his passing.

The Chuck Jones Experience features a unique learning center for animation, as well as a 1930s-style movie theatre. Of course, the Chunk Jones Experience would not be complete without a visit to Chuck Jone’s studio, which was re-created for the attraction. There will also be a display for visitors that will allow them to have a bit of extra fun, and create their own sound effects and voiceovers for the displays.

There will be more than 250 pieces of Chuck Jones’ animation work and art pieces on permanent display housed in the 10,000-square-foot center. Many have said that the Chuck Jones Experience has the largest collection of original work by Jones’.

Although Chuck Jones can’t be there himself, the next best thing are his relatives, who will attend the grand opening of the attraction this Thursday. This is a great family attraction, and ticket prices are free for children under 4, $14.95 for visitors ages 5 through 17 as well as those 65 and older, military personnel and students, and $19.95 for adults.
