Old Lady Luck Back In Business

It’s not over for Old Lady Luck! Despite being closed down since 2006, the 650 room Lady Luck hotel-casino that is in downtown Las Vegas has been gutted all the way. It is now undergoing a massive transformation, and is slated to open next year in April 2013.

Lady Luck hotel-casino will not be keeping it’s name unfortunately, taking on a new name befitting of it’s location: the Downtown Grand.

Seth Matthew Schorr and his partner Jeffrey A. Fine are working on leasing the hotel’s casino with 650 slot machines, 32 table games and a race and sports book. With the Nevada Gaming Control Board recommending approval, it looks like things will go smoothly in the casino component of the new hotel.

According to Seth Matthew Schorr, the renovation will cost over $100 million. All of the work will retain the bridge that is between the two towers on the property, but it will be encased in glass. The nice thing about this is that it will also allow people to get a view of the Mob Museum.

For the time being, Seth Matthew Schorr and his partner Jeffrey A. Fine have managed to snag approval from the Nevada Gaming Control Board for 16 slot machines at the “Mob Bar” downtown.
