Santana Gets Intimate
Each concert is different. That is Carlos Santana’s approach. Normally, when you find something that works, it’s good to stick with the tried and true. But when you’ve been doing concerts as your career for over five decades, maybe what ever little different things he’s doing aren’t such a bad thing. Not to say that Santana veers off into something totally different, just that for him, he likes to bring something different to each of his concerts. His latest stint is at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay.
“We will be playing the songs people want to hear, but in the middle, we’ll provide a musical experience that is unique,” Santana said yesterday at House of Blues where he announced the first set of dates for his upcoming residency in Las Vegas. “People will hear what they want to hear, but they will be pleasantly surprised, too.”
Santana’s first opening day is fast approaching, as it is May 2. He’ll be opening at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay, and the show is titled “An Intimate Evening With Santana: Greatest Hits Live — Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow”
From May 2, 2012 to November 11, 2012, a total of 31 shows have been announced. There will be 16 shows in May through June, and the other 9 dates will be added later. There will be a total of 40 show dates for 2012, and also 40 show dates in 2013.
