Three New Companies Recommended for Online Poker Licenses in Nevada

The state of Nevada is already known as the gambling capital of the world, and efforts are underway to make it one of the top online gambling locations as well.  Online poker licenses have officially been recommended for three companies including MGM Resorts International, Z4 Poker LLC of Las Vegas, and Cams LLC of Los Angeles.

The licenses were reviewed by the Nevada Gaming Control Board, who met yesterday to discuss the proposals.  The recommendations complete one more step in the online gaming licensing process, which now awaits official approval from the Nevada Gaming Commission.

The Commission has already granted approval for online poker licenses to over a dozen different companies including Boyd Gaming.  Boyd is expected to partner with MGM once its approval has been made official, in order to create an online poker room using technology from bwin.party digital entertainment.  A license for bwin.party to operate in the state of Nevada is expected to be completed early next year, and MGM and Boyd have said their poker room will be available online shortly after the license is granted.

Z4 Poker is developing plans for its own online poker room, while also expected to create its own line of eBingo and Keno games.  Meanwhile, Cams has established its own technology to authenticate player activity, and prevent controversies like money laundering or problem gambling.  This also allows Cams to manage player accounts to determine their appropriate age and location.

Casino operators, gaming providers, and state politicians are also lobbying for legalized online poker across the entire United States.
