World Series Of Poker At The Rio
The World Series of Poker Main Event has kicked off at Las Vegas’ Rio Hotel and Casino resort. Thousands of amateur and professional poker players have come from near and far for this annual major poker tournament.
The World Series of Poker Main Event has drawn in players by the thousands over the years, and even though this year, the turnout is at 6,598 players, that’s actually a small decline in comparison to last year, which had 6,865 players turn out. Even though there is a small decline, it hasn’t stopped players from coming out for this major poker event. The first day of the event alone, there were 3,418 entrants.
Only 666 players will win money in this tournament, and the tournament champion will walk away with eight figures, at $8.5 million.
The final table consists of nine players, and will be played later on. Making it to the final table guarantees a sizable prize, and it breaks down as the following:
1st — $8,527,982
2nd — $5,292,889
3rd — $3,797,558
4th — $2,850,494
5th — $2,154,616
6th — $1,640,461
7th — $1,257,790
8th — $971,252
9th — $754,798
The final table will be played in October, and seven players will become instant millionaires.
