WSOP Winner From Las Vegas

The poker champ of WSOP’s Big One for One Drop is Las Vegas’ Antonio Esfandiari, who took home a staggering $18 million. The actual number is $18,346,673, which happens to be a record breaker for the highest prize ever won in poker history.

This WSOP event was the first of it’s kind, and the game was Texas Hold’em. The event was held for three days at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The buy-in was a hefty $1 million for 40 players. What’s new about this event, besides the hefty buy-in and the astounding prizes is that a platinum championship bracelet is rewarded.

The first three ranking players are as follows:

In first place is Antonio Esfandiari, from Las Vegas. He won $18,346,673.00. In second place, is Sam Trickett from Britian, who won $10,113,001.00. In third place is New York’s David Einhorn, who won $4,352,000.00. Einhorn donated his winnings to City Year, an education-focused nonprofit organization. Nothing has been reported on any of the other players and what they decided to do with their winnings.

“It’s unbelievable, it’s euphoric. I’m so happy right now, and I don’t even think it has set in.” That is what Esfandiari said when commenting on his surprising win.
