Las Vegas Went Completely Dark Over the Weekend

Monday, March 29th, 2010

Many participated in the event that cities around the world took part in! The lights were out all across the globe as people participated in Earth hour from 7:30pm until 8:30pm but it was especially interesting to see a dark strip as the city of Las Vegas as well as the hotels located on the strip and in the downtown core participated in this one hour event to conserve energy and make the world that we live in a better place for all of us!

It is interesting to see something like this in Las Vegas as more often than not you can be assured that you will come to the strip and see all the hotels and casinos and lit up with many lights. After all the city has been known for the city of lights for quite some time and there is a reason for this.

Everything has been leaning to becoming more green and there has been a growing concern for our planet as a whole. The Las Vegas hotels and casinos are certainly trying to do their part in helping the situation. There have been many hotels that are converting and switching their lighting, those that are doing more to recycle and many that are just trying to run more efficiently as to increase awareness for their patrons as well as save some money while they are at it.

The earth hour is something that is said to be happening more frequently in the near future and we hope that many will come together in making it possible to prolong the future and make the whole world a better and healthier place to be!

March Madness Airs on All the Vegas Screens

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

If you are walking through the casinos in Las Vegas and just happen to be by the area of the sports books then you are sure to see the March madness on at least one TV screen playing above your head! Fans of college basketball arrange special trips to Las Vegas to watch the games on big screen and try to predict the outcomes while placing a wager or two on the possibility of their favourite team making it to the top of the competition.

There are several schools that are considered favourites to win against their opponents but several of those favourites have actually turned into upsets this year making those betting on the underdog a big winner. The finals likely won’t have the players that the boards predicted but it will still be an interesting event to watch as there is so much excitement around the innocence of college basketball.

Some say that the reason college basketball so fun to watch is because the players that are playing in the game and on the teams are trying their absolutel best to win simply to make a career out of it and to do the best that they can for their team and their school. Unlike professional basketball the players are not getting paid millions to be out on the courts and so the stakes for these players are more emotional than anything else!

Las Vegas is a great place to go to watch these events happen as there are so many sports books with plenty of big screens and very comfortable seating to watch the games on big screen. There are also drinks going around making for a fun and entertaining atmosphere!

Las Vegas had a Roaring night last Night

Tuesday, February 9th, 2010

There many things done in Vegas last night but surely one of the most popular things being done in Vegas last night was people placing bets on the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl was an event that so many sports enthusiast look forward to and so many of them make a wager on the outcome of the event. Some even said that this year has the largest betting rounds that Vegas has ever experienced on the Super Bowl.

There are many ways players could have bet on the football game of the year. Fans could bet on the outcome of the game. They could predict the winning team. They could predict the amount of points scored by either team. The total amount of points scored, the spread between the two teams. How long the game would last, the chances of over time, and the list goes on and on.

Vegas was a busy place and is still rather busy today with many going to cash in on last nights winnings as well as some dealing with a bit of a hangover from all of last nights festivities. One things is for sure, there will be another super bowl next year and Vegas will be open and ready to take some bets and make some more happy fans a little richer!

Man Crashes thru Doors in Vegas Casino

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010

Probably as much of a nightmare as you could imagine from a scene in the movies, that was the feeling of many people at Edgewater Hotel & Casino at 9:30 in the morning as a man crashed thru the doors of the casino in his car that he was driving. The crash killed two people that were in the lobby of the casino and injured at least eight others before it stopped by the force of the row of slot machines that the car had crashed into.

The crash was the accident of a 75 year old man that had reportedly suffered a health issue in the form of an attack while driving the vehicle and drove out of control. One of the people that was killed was driven over and found behind the car while the other person was stuck dead under the car as well as some slot machines. There was a look of horror on so many faces.

The slot machines were thrown around as if a tornado had come thru the casino and there was a total site of destruction in the area. Witnesses said that the car came through the glass hotel doors at a very fast speed. The people that were injured were taken to nearby hospitals and there hasn’t been a report of their condition. The power in the hotel and casino was turned off right away and the hotel and casino was completely evacuated. This is a tragic case for many innocent people and a simple accident that turned deadly.

Las Vegas is the Place for Stags and So Much More!

Monday, February 1st, 2010

There are many reasons to go to Vegas. Some people go to see the sites, others go to play some games at the casino, and there are many that go to enjoy the fantastic restaurants and shopping that the city has to offer! But there are others that go to Vegas with one purpose in mind. Those are the men that you see in groups, no women in site, just a bunch of guys, running around Vegas losing their minds and having a good time.

Vegas is one of the most popular destination stag cities in the world. People from all over the world gather their males buddies before the time of their weddings and plan a trip to Vegas for one last night of good old single guy fun! (make that a couple nights but who’s counting)!

There’s a saying that comes along with the things that happens in Las Vegas – many say that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas! This is probably something that doesn’t sound that appealing to the future wives of the men that are going to Vegas to spend their last unwed days but the truth of the matter is that Vegas is just a place and while there are ample opportunities to act wild most people still end up going through with the weddings that they have planned back home.

There are plenty of things for these groups of men to do as this city knows it visitors. There are plenty of clubs for the men to visit and bachelors can seek the assistance of the host within any hotel to help plan for a trip that they are guaranteed to remember!
