Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009

Las Vegas is filling up for the holidays, hotel occupancy is higher than expected and many look like they are having a great time throughout the hotels, restaurants, casinos and shops and if that is the case then it likely means that those people that are having a good time are also spending money which is great for the economy in the city as its had a rather unpredictable and unstable year previous to this season.

Hotel owners and operators are counting on this type of activity to keep up and are hoping that January brings a whole different slew of people and visitors and with the action of the city centre and all the new hotels and restaurant there is more than enough for those that are going to Vegas to keep themselves busy.

Even those that have been to Vegas in the past can enjoy the new hotels and casinos and shops and restaurants. There are just endless places to see for the Vegas lover in you! But for the next few weeks getting into the city at a bargain will be a questionable option as many have decided to make a last minute reservation with their holiday savings and head over to the city of lights for some last minute chances at winning a big jackpot before the New Year!

The casinos will be full on Christmas Eve and likely for the rest of the year as well and there will be many fantastic events to participate in no matter what hotel you are staying in and there are always great entertaining options for you to take advantage of all through the city as well!

New Casino for Las Vegas Sands?

Monday, December 21st, 2009

The very popular casino and hotel company known as LVS or Las Vegas Sands is rumoured to be opening a new casino in Singapore this coming April. The casino and hotel was originally planning to open its doors to the public this coming march but it looks like those plans will be experiencing a short delay and its a little shocking that the company is expanding at all as the year for the land based casino industry has been anything but fulfilling.

The project was originally schedule to cost approximately 3.2 billion but has gone way over budget at 5.25 billion dollars. There have been several issues that added to this problem. There has been a shortage of workers as well as a change in the markets and many forks thrown in the road along the way.

The project will feature a whole assortment of luxury beauty to take in as a visitor for business or for pleasure. Apart from the stunning lavish casino the complex will hold a beautiful hotel, stunning pools and gardens, a convention centre, a performing arts theatre, and a line up of the most popular and top of the line in retail shopping stores that are sure to satisfy the most discerning shopper.

There will be many new projects that stand to be completed this year. It will be interesting to see what happens and when projects are actually completed but we will just have to wait and see what happens! One thing is for sure any project coming from Las Vegas Sands is sure to be completely and utterly gorgeous both inside and out!

Las Vegas Hotels Worried About Returning Business

Monday, November 2nd, 2009

It has been a little bit of both up and down with this recession that has hit many countries in recent times. Las Vegas definitely felt a blow, especially several months ago when hotels were standing empty with tons of availability for days on end. This time of year brings a bit of the scare back as hotels are currently full of those that may be there for a convention but once the holiday season rolls around it will be interesting to see how much occupancy the hotels on the Las Vegas Strip actually receive.

The recession is far from over, say several analysts that have studied patterns in the economy very closely. And if this is true then the travel industry is always a good indictor to look at to see what the action is like among the companies in this industry. Las Vegas relies heavily on the their travel and tourism industry as it is a big provider of jobs and income into the state and city.

They holiday season will be a telling one. If this season proves to be a strong one or at least stronger than that of the holiday season last year than at least their will be hopes for the future and an indication that we are on the ups for the year to come. But until after the holidays and likely the first quarter of the 2010 calendar year we won’t know what to predict for the city as a whole all the business that are run directly out of it as well.
