LVS and Wynn Seeing Growth and Promising Future

Monday, August 24th, 2009

Investors and Casino operators have been full of fear over the last year as they saw their stocks go from a giant net worth to numbers so low that they aren’t even worth mentioning. But it seems that things are turning around. The casino and hotel companies LVS (Las Vegas Sands) and the Wynn Resorts are both reporting growth in numbers and projected growth for the year to come.

The casino companies are doing better in the last quarter than they have been in recent times. The last year was very troubling, not only for these casinos but also for all of Las Vegas and the hotels and casinos that are located there. The whole world seemed to be feeling the recession but no one as much as those that counted on travel and tourism.

Forecasters are putting a buy recommendation on both stocks and saying that they expect the stocks to perform quite well for the rest of the year and moving forward. There are plenty of investors that lost a ton of money when these stocks crashed. They LVS stock was over $130 at one point just about 18 months ago and is now at an amount just over $13. This isn’t even that bad considering that it was under the $2 mark just a few months ago.

Harrah’s May Auction WSOP to Online Casinos

Monday, March 23rd, 2009

The Las Vegas based company Harrah’s Entertainment has been experiencing some rather tough economic times recently and is apparently looking for assets to sell off to other companies and investors in order to secure their footing throughout the rough time that they are facing.

As a corporation Harrah’s entertainment would surely love to hold on to the WSOP (World Series of poker) rights as long as possible especially since the UIGEA is rumored to be lifted at some point in the not so distant future. If the laws were lifted then the Las Vegas Company would surely create their own online casino or even a string of online casinos and run an online version of the WSOP.

However, unfortunately the economy is what it is and there is seemingly no time to look for other ventures or opportunities. The Harrah’s corporation must act now and save the assets that they do hold at the time.

The sale of the WSOP is likely to bring in quite a few wagering members of the online casino world and is likely to raise enough revenue for the company to cover their backs for a little while at least. Next on the list of things to sell in order to stay afloat will be the Las Vegas Rio hotel and casino.
Surely the company will do anything in their powers to hold on to what they have but there is no guarantee that there is a light at the end of tunnel at this point. The company reported losses of more than $4 billion dollars in just the last quarter overall and is looking for ways to recapture their position.

New Hotel Deals in Las Vegas

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

There has never been a better time to plan a trip to Las Vegas than right now. Almost every, if not every single hotel on the strip is offering some sort of deal or promotion.

Some packages are as simple as including a hotel stay for 4 days, which usually run Thursday thru Sunday, while there are other packages that offer everything from flights to hotel to restaurants, shows and other entertainment.

Looking for the deals has never been easier also. Simply log onto a travel search engine of the website of the hotel that you prefer, punch in the dates that you are looking for a watch the deals come up. It is also a good idea to take a look at the months schedule for the hotel as by doing that you can get an idea of how low the prices actually go.

Luxury hotels such as the Wynn and the Bellagio are offering room rates starting from just 179 dollars per night, rates like this were almost unheard of this time last year! But if you are happy staying at a hotel that is not at the top of the A-list than 179 dollars can pay for your entire weekend if you choose to stay at a hotel such as Bally’s which is currently offering a full weekend promotion.

Flights are cheap too! Getting to Vegas to enjoy your trip should not be a problem as many airline companies are currently offering seat sales as well as advance purchase tickets to Las Vegas. So all you have to do now is gather some friends and plan your fun Vegas getaway!
