There is a new hotel tower that is opening just off the strip this month and introductory rates are definitely something to talk about. The new tower belonging to the Hard Rock Hotel offers room rates at extremely low prices with an attempt to fill this 490 room Paradise Tower with some desirable guests.
The plans to build the tower began well before the crisis that the American economy has been experiencing since about this time last year. The whole city had many construction projects on the go and many of them were actually put on hold once the economy basically came to a complete halt.
The hotel and casino are located off the strip so times are even tougher for them than those casinos and hotels that are physically on the strip. The off strip hotels usually get quite a bit of business because typically the strip hotels are busy and have higher prices. But since traffic is slower all around the off strip hotels are really feeling the blow.
If you are thinking of heading to Vegas and getting a real value for your buck I would seriously consider this destination. While being off the strip it is still quite centrally located so people that are new to Vegas and want a great deal should seriously consider this hotel. Its new, fresh and exciting and complete with a rock and roll tattoo theme that is sure to please the young crowd looking for a new spot to check out and enjoy.

The home of the doctor that was with Michael Jackson on the day of his death was searched several times by various government authorities this week. The home of Doctor Conrad Murray was searched in Las Vegas by the DEA and another government agency on 2 separate occasions. They are looking for evidence of manslaughter as there was a trace of Diprivan (a drug that is used by prescription only as a sleeping aid) in Michael Jackson’s blood.
The autopsy results have not yet been returned to the officials but there are things that point to Michaels death being more than just a regular accident. The super star was having trouble sleeping in recent times due to all the reported excitement that he was experiencing preparing for the concerts that were coming up and the concerts that he was recently in.
The doctor did say that he was taking certain sleeping aids but the medication in question could have stopped Michaels heart from beating which would mean that this particular medication had cost him his life and killed him.
There has been quite a bit of action in Las Vegas surrounding Michael’s death. While the city is in close proximity to Los Angelos, that actually had nothing to do with the matter. There have been talks that Michael had plans to purchase a home in Las Vegas and now this situation with Michaels Las Vegas doctor.

The title to this news article is a little misleading. Reports have recently said that their are fewer winners in Las Vegas these days and perhaps slot machines in Las Vegas and casinos have tightened up their pay schedule. We are happy to say that this is simply not the case. The truth of the matter is that there have just been that many fewer visitors to the city and to the casinos that all the casinos are reporting fewer wins.
But of course with fewer players there will always be fewer wins. After all, it doesn’t make sense that players would win at the same schedule as last year if there are less than half the amount of people playing the games.
Machines in Las Vegas and the majority of slot machines in general run on a algorithm that allows players to win at random so in reality no matter who many players play the machine will eventually go and someone will win. But the chances of winners increase as the number of players increase so if there are more players there are more winners.
Hotels and casinos in Las Vegas are feeling the lack of players and visitors as well. But those that are game players need not be discouraged. In fact now is the best time to come to Las Vegas. The hotels (and that includes all of them) are willing to except you with open arms and offer deals that haven’t been available in years and if you make an effort and talk to the casino host then you may just get that special treatment that you have always wanted!

The Las Vegas convention center has been rather slow in the summer months but this summer is a bit different. The convention center seems to be hosting one event after the next. And this does not come as a surprise since there is obviously a lack of income in the city of Las Vegas and the city is doing everything it can to drive traffic inwards.
The majority of the eastern states and other places in North America have showed to have a rather colder than expected summer which has also helped Vegas to draw some summer visitors. And while traffic is not nearly as high as it has been in previous years it is still picking up at a steady pace.
The mayor of Las Vegas was recently asked for his predictions on the recession and what will become of the lively city of Las Vegas. The answer was positive but not completely clear, the mayor said that the next few months will really test the endurance of the city and people will likely need to keep Vegas in mind when planning a vacation to make sure that the economy of the city stays afloat.
He closed his statements by saying that Vegas is a city that counts on the travel and tourism sector quite heavily to drive their economy so the more people that keep planning their Vegas vacation the better the chances of the city coming out of this okay and stronger than before.

Harrah’s is one of the biggest casino operators in the US, with locations in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Reno and other gambling capitals of the country. Now, they are planning on bringing the excitement overseas – via the World Wide Web. Harrah has recently started planning on opening an online casino for European players, which will be become a competitor some of Europe’s online gambling websites such as William Hill and Ladsbroke.
While a similar effort by MGM previously failed in recent years, Harrah’s believes that they are in a much better situation to take the leap into the only gambling world. In today’s economy, the casino industry is changing, as more and more people are seeing the benefits of gambling online. Most land-based casinos are expected to oppose online gambling because it presents itself as competition. But, as the recent economic crisis has gamblers staying closer to home and even at home to play their favourite casino games, American land casinos are beginning to realize that jumping on the online bandwagon could be advantageous.
However, there are still many people who continue to oppose the legalization of online gambling. Several casino owners continue to view online casinos not only as competition but as a possible embarrassment of the land-based casino industry.
Harrah’s is also at an advantage due to its ownership over rights to the World Series of Poker (WSOP), one of the biggest poker brands in the world. Harrah’s is a name that is widely recognized worldwide and they believe they will enter the European marketing with a readily-established reputation.

Well it’s not quite all transportation but definetly some of it. This bad news particularly concerns the Las Vegas monorail which was a project that was supposed to be fully funded on a private basis. It seems that this may not quite be the case as some tax dollars may now be required to keep the project running to scale.
The monorail is experiencing particular low traffic ever since the trains started moving about 5 years ago. As you may have guessed, the current economic situation isn’t making things any better as there hasn’t really been a pickup in traffic in recent times.
When the original forecasting was done to predict the traffic of the project and provide a cushion fund for the off seasons it seems as though traffic this low was never part of the consideration thus raising the issue of the predicament that it is currently facing. And funds are running out at a rather quick rate.
What will happen now? Well it seems that the weeks to follow will have some missed bond payments meaning that the project can be taken over by the original financers, however it is important to point out that the people in question are actually just that: financers and wouldn’t know the first thing about operating a train company.
While several different financing options are now up for discussion it is not clear at this time what the exact plan for payout will be. In the meantime the debt of the project is not getting any lower.
For those that may be concerned, there is nothing to worry about just yet as there are no plans to cancel operation and the train will continue to operate on schedule, at least until further notice.

While construction has been slower these last few months (and everyone has noticed) it seems as though MGM has come to an agreement which is putting MGM construction workers back to work.
Projects that have been on hold for a long time and work that has been much overdo is finally getting some attention again.
The MGM Corporation was happy to come to an agreement which made sure that while employees would be back at work for the hotel and casino company, they were aware that raises would not be up for negotiation until summer 2010 at the earliest.
Casino and hotel operators throughout Las Vegas are all facing similar challenges as to making decisions which will greatly affect the outcome of their future for the next while to follow. Should they run themselves further in debt and continue finishing the projects that they started? Or should they cut their losses and put a stop to all the started projects and then move forward only once true financing for the projects is secures.
It is almost a double edged sword situation. While the hotels need to complete projects to appear more presentable and entice visitors to continue to make reservations and keep coming over they still need to control the spending especially in tough economic times that they country is facing.
In the meantime hotels are offering promotions that Vegas has not seen in a long time and rates that appear cheaper than ever. If you were planning to book a trip to Las Vegas, now is certainly a good time to do so!

Paris Hilton is a popular guest of Las Vegas and always makes a great big party out of any place that she appears. But this weekend it wasn’t Paris who was making the main appearance.
World renowned soccer (football for some) player Ronaldo was the main event in Sin City this weekend as he made an appearance at several of Las Vegas’ hottest night clubs and was seen in some intimate moments with several young ladies.
The soccer player has been rumoured to be in a relationship with Paris Hilton but apparently such is not exactly the case as the sports athlete was getting quite cozy with the other ladies and was even reported to be entering his hotel room with them at the end of the night.
But him and Paris have one thing in common and that is their taste for all things nice. Ronaldo spent his weekend at staying at one of the nicest suites at the Palm Resort and Casino in a suite that ran him a nightly bill of over $11,000 per night!
Looks like the soccer player is doing okay and able to enjoy all the luxuries and amenities that the beautiful city of Las Vegas has to offer someone of this type of calibre.
If you are interested in checking out the room that he stayed in for a fun filled weekend for your and your friends you can visit the Palms website where you will find all the contact information that you may require.

The last few months have been a very quiet time for Las Vegas. Restaurants have been shortening their hours. Tables in the casinos look care and shut down at least half the time and everyone is not looking quite as happy and excited as they used to. BUT it seems as though all this is starting to change.
Activity in Las Vegas has surely picked up in the last months. Hotels are reporting that they are much busier and have fewer vacancies than they did in recent weeks past.
Analysts say that they are not exactly sure what is driving this as they economy still hasn’t relayed since the fall earlier this year.
Whatever it is this past week, there are many more smiling faces and people are starting to go out, shop, play poker, gambling and enjoy Vegas for the exact reason that they city is there for.
Builders are saying that projects that were under construction and put on pause are going to be back in action again by the end of this calendar year.
Everyone in Las Vegas and the US is looking for various signs that they economy will pick up and things will be back to the beautiful way that they were in this time last year. But until then you can still take advantage of the wonderful prices for what it takes to get into Las Vegas!!
